POCKET TIGGER |
The R. John Wright "Pocket Series" began with the release of "Pocket Pooh" in 1993. The delightful miniature bear proved to be so popular that an entire "Pocket-size" collection grew out of it based on the characters in the Winnie-the-Pooh books by A. A. Milne and illustrated by E. H. Shepard. The fourth issue in the series was "Pocket Tigger." Tigger was first sculpted in wax and then molded using custom metal molds to give him sculptural form and consistency in production.
Made in perfect scale to accompany the other pieces in the series, this diminutive version of Tigger stands just 3 1/2" tall, but makes up for his small size with an abundance of personality! He is handcrafted of the finest materials including custom-made mohair and cotton fabric with hand stenciled stripes and imported felt-backed glass eyes. "Pocket-size" Tigger has embroidered features and whiskers and hand set ears and tail. He is fully jointed to be playfully posed and to give him that distinctive "Tigger" bounce! Every detail has been carefully researched and applied to capture the essence of the original illustrations by E. H. Shepard from the classic Winnie-the-Pooh books by A. A. Milne
Like the other characters in the Pocket collection, Pocket Tigger was produced in an edition of 3500 individually-numbered pieces. Each came enclosed in a deluxe RJW presentation box with an applied Shepard watercolor on the lid. Included was an illustrated booklet, the accompanying signed and numbered certificate of authenticity, and the forms for owner registration.
