R. John Wright Dolls - Winnie-the-Pooh Pocket Series

FULL POCKET SERIES COLLECTION

The R. John Wright "Pocket Series" began in 1993 with the release of Pocket Pooh which measured just 5 inches tall. In 1999, after Christopher Robin and the animal characters were released in the same miniature scale, a special lithograph background was designed to display the entire series. The backdrop featured an illustration of the Hundred Acre Wood by E. H. Shepard watercolored by Susan Wright. The printed lithographic background was then mounted on a heavy tri-fold board which opened for easy display behind the characters. When closed, the backdrop ties in the front with a handsome grey grosgrain ribbon which includes the RJW brass button.

In addition to the litho background, the Pocket Series set shown above includes Winnie-the-Pooh; Piglet; Eeyore; Tigger; Rabbit; Kanga & Roo; and Owl. Each is fully jointed and made of custom-made wool plush with glass eyes and hand-embroidered features.

Christopher Robin stands approximately 12" tall and is in perfect scale to accompany the other characters. Skillfully fashioned from 100% wool felt, Christopher features a realistically sculpted face, torso, and limbs. The facial features are delicately hand painted and the wig is hand-knotted of the finest mohair. The authentic period costume includes finely finished cotton clothing and cobbled leather sandals.

Every detail has been carefully researched to capture the essence of these beloved characters as depicted by E. H. Shepard in the original Winnie-the-Pooh books by A. A. Milne.

Each of the "Pocket" creations came inside its own deluxe presentation box with a descriptive booklet, the signed and numbered certificate of authenticity, and the forms for owner registration.
