LILLIAN was first made in 1981 and was the very first R. John Wright child doll. She was 17" tall and was named after the Wright's first child who was then just three years old. The Lillian doll marked the beginning of the charming Little Children series. Now, as part of our 40th Anniversary celebration, we are re-issuing Lillian in a darling 'cabinet-size' edition!
Lillian is made entirely of the finest all-wool felt. She measures a diminutive 7 1/2 inches tall and is fully jointed with the RJW ball & socket system. Lillian's torso and limbs are sculpturally defined and her tiny hands have individually sewn fingers. Her molded face is delicately hand painted and her wig is made of the finest mohair.
Lillian is costumed in a vintage-style outfit consisting of a plaid skirt with straps, a muslin blouse, and a bonnet handsewn of wool yarn. Cotton stockings and hand-cobbled oxford tie shoes complete her period ensemble. Lillian comes holding a miniature replica of the very first R. John Wright doll. (Note: the 1st doll is not attached.)
This edition of 'Lillian' is limited to 140 pieces worldwide. She comes enclosed in a deluxe RJW presentation box with a signed certificate of authenticity and the forms for owner registration.
