In 2007 R. John Wright introduced the Palmer Cox Brownie Band at a special ticketed dinner event sponsored by UFDC [The United Federation of Doll Clubs]. In 2008, the "Uncle Sam" Brownie was released and the following year, the "Brownie Indian" was added to the growing collection. The whimsical Indian character made his first appearance in Cox's second Brownie book published in 1890 titled "Another Brownie Book."

Measuring 8 1/2" tall, the Palmer Cox Indian Brownie is made of the finest custom-made all wool felt which is both moth-proof and color-fast. The Indian is jointed at the neck and shoulders and there is heavy wire inside his legs to enable him to be self-standing. He features realistic coloring, hand painted features (including 'war paint'!), incredibly tiny sculptural hands, and a mohair wig with felt feathers.

Based exactly on the Palmer Cox illustrations, the Indian wears a traditional "deerskin" costume made of felt consisting of belted shirt with fringe decorated with hand painted designs, tiny felt covered buttons, fringed leggings, and mocassins. As a wonderful added accessory, the Indian holds a handcrafted wood and metal tomahawk in one hand. No detail has been overlooked to bring this beloved Palmer Cox character vividly to life.

The Palmer Cox Indian was produced in a limited edition of 250 pieces. Each came inside a deluxe R. John Wright presentation box with a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity and the forms for owner registration.
