EASTER KEWPIES |
The Kewpie Easter Collection was the first of the "Holiday-themed" series of authentic Rose O'Neill Kewpie characters. Like other R. John Wright Kewpies, the Kewpies in the Easter collection were constructed of the finest all-wool felt which is completely molded and delicately hand-painted. Standing 6" tall, each is five-way jointed for poseability and include the trademark tiny blue Kewpie wings on the shoulders. These are the perfect 'cabinet-size' Kewpies!
In addition to the three Easter "Bonnet" Kewpies, the series included the adorable Kewpie Bunny and Chick. The Kewpie Bunny wears a removable bunny costume made of felt with covered felt snap closures. On one wrist the Kewpie Bunny holds a tiny custom-made handwoven basket filled with pastel-colored hand painted wooden eggs. The perfect companion to the Bunny, is the sweet Kewpie Chick dressed in a removable mohair plush and felt chick costume with covered felt snap closures. The 'wings' slip onto Kewpie's arms for a darling effect.
Both the Kewpie Bunny and the Kewpie Chick were produced in 2002 in a limited edition of 250 individually-numbered pieces. Each came enclosed in his deluxe RJW presentation box along with the accompanying signed and numbered certificate of authenticity and the forms for owner registration.
